Besides the entire nation going crazy over the current durian season phase which I have yet to try, here are some pop-up activities that you can spend your free time at before you head for more durians!
Keepers Playground of Infinite Happiness happening at the National Design Centre
This event is about bringing the local arts community together to share their passion through pop-ups, installations, workshops, food and other various activities.
Having been engaged by Funan to invite Key Opinion Leaders (aka Influencers) to their booth, my Co-founder and I had the privilege of attending the pre-event one day before the official opening.
Note: They were still in the midst of setting up the venue during the pre-event, so here are some snippets of what I managed to experience.
FUNAN’S PLAYSUITE
1) Claw Machines
Source: @FunanSG
Who can ever say no when it comes to clawing machines? Not me! Although I did not get the chance to play it (irony), I heard that most of the people who tried got to bring something home.
The best part about this is that the tokens come free by just having to follow Funan on Instagram.
Follow @FunanSG = 2 free tokens!
Prizes consist of limited edition Funan tote bags, CapitaSTAR$, Badges/Pins and other merchandise.
Experience the thrill of finally winning something from a claw machine!
2) Lego Architecture model

Classic architecture models are typically made out of wood, plastic or paper.
But not this one!
The model of the new Funan mall is entirely made out of white Lego blocks! Talk about innovation? They’ve got that right!
3) Instagrammable Spots
Tired of the usual “Instagram spots” you see everywhere on Instagram?
You can start spicing it up with these two Instagrammable installations found at the Funan booth!
Have a style that is slightly edgy and chic? Here’s one for you!

Looking to show off a new dress? This paper flower themed installation is the perfect backdrop to enhance your outfit!

What’s even better? You get a chance to win CapitaSTAR$ points by participating in their giveaway by taking your very own #OOTD shot at one of these spots!
All you have to do is to upload it on your Instagram, hashtag #FunanSG and tag @FunanSG in your #OOTD shots!
Having invited 3 Influencers to this pre-event, they made sure to make full use of the Instagrammable spots for their post. Here are some ideas on how you can take your photos for your gram!

4) Virtual Reality Mall
Not just any virtual reality video, but a virtual reality walkthrough in the new Funan mall.
Warning: If you have motion sickness, this might probably make you want to puke.
If you want to make it through the whole walkthrough feeling less nauseous, I figured that the only way would be for you to walk (literally).
You might look silly, but trust me it works!
Conclusion
So here you have a little bit of what to expect.
As you can see, I have only covered activities happening at Funan’s booth. So do come down to have a first-hand experience of the whole event!
Head down to feast, play and shop at the different design, food, retail and art pop-up stalls carrying over 120 brands, artist, and artisans.
All the best with the claw machines!
